Brennan Database Server

Some owners have reported problems getting CD metadata - track names and album art.

We believe Musicbrainz are struggling to defend themselves against AI agents and other bots and have introduced severe rate limiting and or IP blocks.

We have created a copy of the database on our own server to help. You need to enable the Brennan server from the web UI settings panel - click on the cog then check "Brennan Album Database"

The B3/B2 will then try the Brennan server first and then try Musicbrainz if it cannot find a match. The Musicbrainz server uses fuzzy matching - so when it works it can be better. 

Sometimes the same album has several releases with slightly different track lengths  - so they have a different "fingerprint". Fuzzy matching can find a match where an exact match will fail.
