Connecting B3+ to your Hifi

B3+ has two extra connectors on the back.

  • An optical Toslink connector
  • An electrical 3.5mm stereo jack

If your amplifier has an optical input then that is by far the best way to connect them. You will need an inexpensive cable like this. Just search for "Toslink cable".

If your amplifier does not have an optical input it will almost certainly have phono connectors. So you will need a cable like this.

Search for "3.5mm to phono"

Notes

B3+ lets you play to through the power amplifier (wired loudspeakers) and/or the DAC (these two extra audio outputs). Use the Select Output function on the main menu to pick what you want. If you are not getting sound this could be the issue.

The 3.5mm jack socket can also be used for headphones so the signal level is controlled by the volume control. If you play your B3+ through your own amplifier using the 3.5mm jack then you should turn  the B3+ volume to maximum and control the listening level using the volume control on your amplifier.
