How to connect loudspeakers to B3

This page shows how to connect Brennan BSP50 loudspeakers to a B3.

BSP50s are supplied with our speaker leads. If you plan to connect your own loudspeakers you can buy the leads seperately here. Your speakers may have different connectors but the instructions are the same.

The speaker leads have plugs at one end and bare wire at the other.

Notice that the insulation on the wire going to the red plug has a white dash along its length.

The loudspeakers are identical - there is no left or right speaker.

First attach the bare ends of one speaker lead to one of the speakers.

BSP50s have spring loaded connectors with holes in the side that align when pressed.

The aim is to get the bare end of the speaker lead wire in contact with the metal.

Push the connector and insert the bare end into the hole at the side. Then release so that the metal of the connector pinches the bare metal wire.

Remember the wire with the dashes goes to the red connector.

Repeat for both wires. This is how it looks when its done.

Then repeat all this with the other loudspeaker.

Finally plug the other ends of the speaker cables into the B3 as shown above.

Note that the speaker lead from your right speaker (as viewed from the front) goes in the pair of sockets labelled right. Ditto for the left.

Our speaker leads are 3m in length. If you want longer cables you could consider making your own.
