The JB7 album database is now supplied on a USB stick. The database is updated around twice a year. The latest database was updated on 22nd October 2024 with the addition of over 20,000 new albums.
The USB stick is sent by post from our repair centre. Allow four working days.
Originally the album database was distributed on CDROM but it has outgrown the capacity of a CDROM. There was a mechanism to load the database from USB which was intended for use at the factory. This has been a lifesaver - although the function is hidden.
Here is how to install the database
- Plug the USB stick into into JB7
- Click the buttons in the following order Eject, Eject, Eject, Back, Eject, Eject - if music starts playing just ignore it.
- The display will show Version - this is the factory menu
- Turn the knob until you see CDDB upgrade and then push
- You will see "Loading" on the display and it will take about 20 minutes
