Fix for Sonos Update.
Earlier this week Sonos released new software that broke compatibility with Helix, VB1 and EZB. This update may have occurred without you knowing.
We identified the problem within 24 hours and released new software that fixes things.
Here are reminders how to perform a software update on the three products.
Helix
Helix is simple - just use the menu and select Extra->Software Upgrade. It takes about a minute.
VB1
You update VB1 using its Web UI. Click on the triangle to the right of the Version. Then click Update. It will take about a minute. The version will update when done.
If you don't remember the IP address of your VB1 follow these steps on a mobile phone.
- Unplug the VB1 power then plug it in again. This will turn on the hotspot
- On your mobile phone Tap Settings -> Connections -> Wifi
- Look for BrennanVB in Available Networks and select it.
- Enter "brennanvb" when prompted for the password
- Your phone should now be connected to the Brennan VB1 hotspot.
- Open a browser (Chrome or Safari) and type 192.168.4.1 in the address bar
- Make a note of the VB1 IP address
- Tap the triangle to the right of the version
- Tap the update button - it will take a minute and you will see a new version date
- Your phone will revert back to the previous Wifi network and you can use the VB1 IP address to find access it if necessary.
EZB
You update EZB using its Web UI. Click on the triangle to the right of the Version. Then click Update. It will take about a minute. The version will update when done.
If you don't remember the IP address of your EZB follow these steps on a mobile phone.
- Turn on EZB by pressing the knob to wake it up
- Hold the back button on EZB for two seconds. This will turn the hotspot on and the Blue LED will flash more regularly. The back button is on the left with the knob at the top.
- On your mobile phone Tap Settings -> Connections -> Wifi
- Look for BrennanVB in Available Networks and select it.
- Enter "brennanvb" when prompted for the password
- Your phone should now be connected to the Brennan EZB hotspot.
- Open a browser (Chrome or Safari) and type 192.168.4.1 in the address bar

- Tap the triangle to the right of the version
- Tap the update button - it will take a minute and you will see a new version date
